Profession: Business Continuity/Incident Management

Role with Girls on the Run: Board Member, Coach, and Solemate

Favorite hobbies: Napping, Running, Reading

How long have you been involved? 3 years! I have been a coach, a volunteer, and I am currently a member of the Board of Directors. I am also running the Chicago Marathon as a Solemate for Girls on the Run!

What’s your favorite part? Seeing how proud the girls are when they reach the goals they set for themselves in practice! I love when the girls come to the first practice of the week and are excited to tell me how active they were over the weekend. They are so proud to tell me they ran with a parent or when for a hike with a friend. It really shows they are engaged in the program and take the lessons we teach and the goals we set into their everyday lives.

Favorite day of the season? Practice 5K Day. The girls have so much fun and are so excited when they finish!

Favorite GOTR cheer or award? Spirit Fingers!

Why should others get involved? Volunteering with Girls on the Run not only benefits the organization, it benefits you! It is so easy to get bogged down with the day to day of life and the girls remind me to have fun and enjoy the moment we are in. I always leave a Girls on the Run practice or event laughing and grateful for my involvement with the organization.
