Name: Amanda Mirabal

Hometown: Colorado Springs, CO

Age: 25

Profession: Recruiter Consultant for GE Healthcare/Kelly OCG

Favorite Hobbies: Running, reading, learning, hiking

Role at GOTR: Volunteer Coach

What inspired you to get involved?: I started running in college – a time when I felt insecure and invaluable. I set goals for myself and achieved them. As I achieved these goals, I started to feel stronger, happier, and empowered. I wanted to get involved to empower other girls through running and help them recognize that they are strong and valuable.

A special GOTR memory: The end of the season was so special. Each girl gave me a hug and let me know how much they enjoyed GOTR. I also received a handmade thank you card from one of our girls. It said “I loved GOTR and I won’t let the dark cloud cover my star” I was so happy she remembered this powerful message.

Favorite Energy award: “Moose, alpaca”

Encouraging words for others thinking of getting involved: The days that I got to lace up my shoes and coach were my favorite days of the week. If I was having an “off day” at work, I would show up to GOTR and quickly realize how important my presence was. As a Coach, I am a listener, an encourager, a healer – I am someone that helps each of the girls realize that they are strong, powerful, kind, and valuable. And in turn, the girls have given me a confidence and purpose I am not sure I would have gotten if not for getting involved with GOTR.

AMANDA, YOU ARE AN INSPIRATION TO US ALL!  – GOTR Staff Team
